State and Local Agencies throughout the country have approved the SSM technology for on-site processing of medical and bio-hazardous waste.
The Environmental Protection Agency and other federal agencies have concluded that alternative technologies, such as SSM, are competitively priced and environmentally preferable to more traditional disposal methods. Because steam sterilization is the method employed by SSM, environment and health departments have concluded that it requires no special permits. It is one method that is recognized in all 50 states as an effective and safe means of sterilization for infectious medical waste. With the SSM you can be assured that your medical waste will be disposed in a way that is compliant with local, state and federal regulations, and it significantly reduces the liability created by the transport and normal disposal methods of infectious medical waste.
The SSM end product is not used by any human or animal therefore, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has no purview over the SSM. The United States Federal Government has no other direct purview over the SSM.
The SSM does comply with the applicable regulations of the United States Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). As required by OSHA, the SSM is NRTL certified.
